winter solstice

So, as I understand it, in December, we celebrate Christmas (the birth of Christ) to coincide with Winter Solstice for the pagans... (Impressive for a 4 month old--I observe a lot.) But with my family, we keep celebrating Christmas. This was my second this year, and I understand Christmas really happens later this week.

So, this time, I got clothes, and more clothes... we ate soup and lemon pie (ok, mom let me have some of her soup, and when she wouldn't share her pie, I chewed on her fingers, looking for lemony goodness...)

Here are pictures of me practicing getting ready for crawling, me and my Grandma Koester, me and my dad, and finally, me completely tuckered out, sleeping in my mom's bed--once again, I kicked her out of her bed).....

Oh, and I tried eating cardboard (oh, I mean rice cereal).

What a week

Well, as you can see from the pictures, it started off casually (I even learned to do the hang loose hand sign) but ended up with me being completely exhausted. Why is it that shots leave me feeling beaten up???? Maybe next time the lady who gives me shots won't hide behind my mom... it makes me mad at my mom, and it takes a couple of days of mixed emotions about my mom to remember she doesn't know how to give shots.

Exciting news, my doctor said I could try real food, but not the stuff I want to eat. I can have rice cereal. They say the cereal will stop me up, maybe I will stop having "accidents" at church--but why stop the fun?

peace out G.

Hair loss

Well, when I was much younger, I had thick curly hair. As I have gotten older, I have discovered more and more hair in the bottom of the tub, or on my blankets or on my mom's clothes. Looking at my dad, I had some concern that my hair would thin, but you would have thought it would have waited until at least my first birthday. Anyway, my mom says it will grow back (I am only 4 months old you know)... I am trying to belive her, but... that is a lot to believe in. When does baldness usually start? How do you know it is for ever? Will wearing hoodies all the time make it look like I am trying to hide something? Am I too young for rogain? Do you think they will offer me a sponsorship, if it works? Way too many things for me to think about.....

Black Friday

Ok, I think I understand black Friday. My mom, Aunt Deana and my grandma look at papers after dinner on Thanksgiving. Then they wake up when it is still dark outside and go stand in line where it is cold. I am only able to flirt with the people standing around me, becuase of the retail lights on the stores near the shopping line.

So, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, shopping starts when it is still black outside. Ok, I am going to go back to sleep.

Gratitude

So, I have survived my first Thanksgiving. My cousin Spence was looking a lot like me, so my Aunt Deana took a picture to remember the occasion. I got to try my most favorite new food... whipped cream. I don't know what the cream did wrong, but I am ok it if is beaten more often. Next year, I might get to try something else off the table.

It has been a while

My dad's birthday was last week, in additional to going out for Chinese food, my grandpa took us to a hockey game. I loved the game, but I really loved hanging out in my cute jacket.
Additionally

I got sick:( Have to say, this was my first opportunity to get sick and while it only lasted a day. I really don't like it. In the future, if you think you might be getting ill, please stay away from me. Mom, this means you as well. Thank you for your support. Grace.

The flight home

Do you think my parents should have taken this picture?

Okies from Muskogee

My parents keep teasing me, I don't know why. This time they announced I was going to visit my cousins, but forgot to mention that we were going as a family... ugh, parents. Can't live with them, can't eat without my mom around.

Anyway, we got on a plane (see the picture of me and my monkey waiting in the airport) in Phoenix, and when I woke up, we were in a very cold, windy place called Tulsa. I woke up again and my aunt Lauren was cooing over me (I love people who adore me...shout out to Aunt Lauren). Then I got to watch Scooter hangout in my car seat, I really hoped he would stay there, because Aunt Lauren wouldn't let Scooter near me. If he stayed in my car seat, I would have to be held and adored.... love it!

My cousins couldn't wait to meet me on Saturday morning.... Cooper is still calling me Gracie, and Georgia, when she is talking to me refers to me as baby (I think it bothers her, because she has laid claim to that name). We went to the Tulsa Aquarium, and my silly cousins stuck their heads in the crocodile, I stayed a respectful distance away, but I did think the shark tunnel was cool.

Because it was cold, I got to wear cool cold weather clothes (check me out).

My favorite picture wouldn't fit on this blog

It has been a crazy week...

Well as people know from my last post, no one offered cash for my mom, so I kept her, as Aunt Natalie reminded me, my mom's family motto is "No Returns" so I am stuck with her. So, I learned this week, that my mom's clothes taste good... better then formula, but not as good as mommy milk. As such, I am eating more of my mom''s clothes.

I like her white t-shirts best.

Oh, and here is a picture of me in my really cool zebra print pants (thanks Aunt Deana) and my I love Big Cedar Lodge shirt that I wore out on the town on Saturday night. I thought I looked really cool, until some not helpful sales lady asked my mom how old her son was... see mom, I told you I needed one of those really cool hair flowers that all the other girls wear...

Well... I am going to go think about how to get my hair longer before I go visit my cousin Georgia this weekend (I hear that she can wear her hair in pigtails... I am so jealous right now...) got to go think hard. If anyone has suggestions (mom already nixed hair extensions and weaves for me this year) let me know....

unappreciated holidays

I nominate that everyday should be Halloween. This was my first Halloween, and other than my boring costume (thanks mom and dad for not trying to be more creative), the concept of dressing up like someone else and everyone giving you candy for being cute...that is my kind of holiday.

drool monster

So, I have been spending the last week working on my sitting skills, but from this weeks pictures, you would think my parents only care that I am now a drooling machine. Take this first picture for example. Here I am looking particularly adorable (if I must say so myself) in my cute leggings and tunic, sitting by myself and does my mom focus in on me???? Nope, she takes a picture of me and my drool spot from just a few minutes before when I was getting dressed. I am still young, I don't have full control of my drooling abilities.

Ok, then my mom invites my dad to get into the picture, and he squishes me...... ugh, can't a baby catch a break???? He is sitting crooked, now I look both uncomfortable and lopsided, when it is just his fault.

it is good to be me

So, last night was another milestone. If I could have danced all night (or walked) I would have, but since I cannot walk, I sang for most of the evening. Here is a picture of my sold out performance (because I was hanging in mom's bed, she had to stand)....

Then, I tried this whole sleeping in a sleep sac, instead of sleeping in my mummy suit. While there wasn't as much Velcro to keep me amused all night, the freedom I had allowed me to go from one direction when mom put me in bed to turning all the way around before my parents woke up.

In the first sleeping picture, I look like I am sleeping on my belly, but that is just my version of "assume the position."

So, what should I conquer next week?????

Maybe my own room and out of the pack and play....

Stay tuned.
